My car, a 1970 911E, received an engine transplant some time in the mid 70s or early 80s. I have no record of where it came from, but the donor car was a 1972T. The car was probably from Washington or Oregon in that time frame. The '72 may have been wrecked and nobody is looking for their original engine. On the other hand, with the rising value of long hood cars, it might be economical to bring back a wreck and you are looking for the original engine. The engine is still very original with the MFI still installed and working.
