Spent a few hours today and am looking for thoughts from you all that have experience.
911 has been sitting for a long time. Been working on fuel tank (new one installed) and fuel lines ready to go. New gas in tank.
Cranked car and it didn't fire. Wish I could hear the fuel pump! Cracked fuel filter had gasoline spray out. Pulled coil wire from distributor, cranked car and no spark to ground. Will a Porsche coil check like an American made car. Should there be a spark to ground like an American car? If it should have a spark to ground and doesn't--where do you suggest I start to check things?
Any help is really appreciated.

^^^ Buy a couple of the good quality DME relays (DO NOT BUY URO BRAND) and keep the extra one in the glove box. You will need it sooner than later when this happens again.....it always does.

'88 Carrera, same symptoms, went through 3 NEW DME relays before finding a good one.
First, replaced it myself, no work. Flatbed to shop, shop installed NEW DME relay, still no work. Shop ordered another new relay, 24 hours later RUNNING engine.
Disassembled all three, original plus 2 NEW ones, SHODDY work ALL, mostly poor soldering, cold solder joints, was able to repair all three.
Original had been in the car, working since at least '93.
