Default Brake pads?

I'm a long time 944 owner who just bought his first 911. It's a 1984 3.2. I'm going through all the normal benchmark maintenance. Front and rear brake pads are in order. I want a pad with better than stock bite but absolutely no cold squeal. What do you 911 veterans recommend?

Daily driver car but I hammer it hard on back roads!

The Pagid Sport pad may be right up your alley:

Pagid "S" or "Sport" - This is a high performance compound with good fading characteristics and high cold friction. The most comfortable medium friction sport compound.

Your stock pads will handle the job unless you are doing something stupid crazy on the street. In which case you should go to a track and get track pads. I use metal masters for the street and autocross. I've heard Porterfield R4S are very good for street/autocross too. Not the R4. That is the squelly track pad version. I would suggest using your already ordered pads first before buying something else. Get something different if you're not happy with them.

We use Mintex pads for normal street use since they make no dust and work very nicely once they are bedded. Same goes for factory pads.

For hard road use, those Pagid Sport pads are very nice; low dust and a good bite. These can be a tad noisy when cold unless properly prepped before installation.

Nope,..liberal use of anti-squeal compound on the back of the pads is all .
