Default Waaaay off topic - therapy dog info?

Since this group is one of varied interests, I was wondering if anyone could connect me with a therapy dog site. We have a REALLY soft Chessie I think would be excellent as a therapy dog with children, and don't know where to begin. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

John,

Check out the local breeders and/or obedience instructors. When he gets a little older, we are going to take Sparky (see avatar) to get his special license, which as I recall is known as a "CDC". Dogs have to successfully pass the CDC training before they can be used as therapy dogs. My wife took our last 2 dogs through this class, and spent a lot of time with them in the cancer wards of local hospitals, especially with the kids. Makes quite a difference in their days.

Good luck,
Tom

Tom,

Thanks for your suggestions. I've contacted Therapy Dogs International, and they're sending me information.
