79 930 idle issues

I have this 79 930, the car starts and runs fine but will not idle, also the tach does not work. Are these some how tied together, okay that sounded pretty stupid, any way any starting points on checking either

Turbo lag... those early 930s need to be at full boost to run properly... (sorry... just couldn't resist)
