Default Location of chasis number

Heya folks
I have a 1979 SC that does NOT have a VIN plate on it.

Can anyone tell me where I can locate the actual chasis number on the vehicle

I have googled to no avail

Stand at the front, open the trunk, and have a look under the carpet on the floor on the left hand side just beyond the fuel tank.

I did look there but maybe not good enough I will take a better look.
It appears to move depending on the year model

Is that the only suggestion for this year model.

Mine is a 76 and has the chassis number in the boot as shown but I also have a plate riveted to the 'A' pillar that can be seen through the windscreen.

The hell you do!

You can also find the VIN stamped under the dashboard closer to the middle.
