I would love to know as well about bumpers. I have called Michael Shaw designs twice about bumpers, ducktail, fender flares and have gotten no return calls

For those interested in the Accumoto bumpers, contact Mark (info on the website). He told me he'd be happy to discuss.

FWIW, the SC/Carrara body is an evolution of the 2.7 Carrara... one of the most iconic 911s ever.

Removing the F/R crash bumpers will clean up the look of the car and save about 60lbs of weight.... not expensive, and well worth it, but I wouldn't mess with the rear flares... with some fiddling, you can fit 9x16 turbo Fuchs on them, and it looks awesome... don't replace factory metal with fiberglass.

A nice retro car is really about the details, from three feet in, not from ten feet back, IMHO. This looks like a very cool project.

Looking to rebuild the trans and use more aggressive gear ratios for 3rd and 4th - trans is an 88 g50.
I know the current factory ratios. Anyone have any recommendations on more aggressive gearing ?

Check the DE/Comp thread... some mind-numbing detail... its for 915 ratios but same principles apply... tag on, probably some good g50 gurus out there too...

IMHO, gears on these cars give more performance bang for the buck than expensive HP mods, especially if you have to do an overhaul on the box anyway.

Just be very clear about how you plan to use the car...
