I'm new to this board, and to Porsche. I did store for a friend a '83 SC Targa a couple of years back and drove it for months - loved it.
I have a line on an '83 CABRIO. I believe I can pick it up (not currently advertised for sale) for around $16,500. Please help me determine what the cars current market value is. Here are the details:
- '83 911 cabrio - grey mkt (German spec)
- 90K on the clock
- white on black interior
- exterior (probably original paint) = 8.5, interior = 8.5
- Same owner for nearly 20 years (mature adult of means) - garage kept always during his entire ownership
- Only 9K miles in last 20 years
- Exterior paint looks quite good with some chipping around headlights
- Interior leather and carpets good. No crack in dash. Overall the car looks sharp
- Tires good
- just passed a state inspection a couple of months back
- convertible top is fairly new
- Don't know yet if timing belt was updated, but I believe it was
- Currently runs great, no known issues
- I've peaked under the car and don't see rust
- sorry, no photos to share today, only this description
- car is in Mid Atlantic, but would be brought to the South
I'm hoping an expert or two will write back and share their knowledge.
Best regards from South Carolina

I surely hope the owner of that car would inform himself/herself with proper due diligence and sell that car for a lot mor than that - like in the mid $30ks. I also hope you do not take advantage of such non-informed seller.
