Default Hard starting

I've noticed for quite a while now that whenever the car sits for a while it takes about 5-8 secs. to start the car. If the car is warmed up the car will restart on the flick of the wrist, but if I let the car sit for an hour or so, it takes some cranking to start. I don't believe its a battery issue because its not a slow crank.
This is a MFI 2.7 car.

How many miles on your fuel filters (in-tank & cannister)?

How old is the fuel pump?

Good question. I have no idea, as I bought the car early last year. Looks like the cannister type. I think this is common to all RS engines.
Don't you think that I would experience other problems, such as drive ability, stumbling, hard acceleration issues, if I had a bad fuel filter?
Also, when you shut off the engine, is there supposed to be a slight injection of fuel into the system so that it is primed or ready for the next start?
