Hey guys, did a search but could not find my issue. Passenger window on '87 Cab not working, stuck in up position. Neither switch works. Is there any place I should start my troubleshooting?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have this problem occasionally. My 88 Carrera window motors have never been replaced. They won't operate sometimes. I found that by using a towel and hitting the door usually frees them up. Mostly occurs on the passenger door. The towel prevents me from denting the outer shell and scarring the interior. Only other fix is to remove the door card and proceed from there.

Check your ground wires.
Any chance you have a multi-meter? Most likely the motor has gone bad, but I'd check to see if it has power first and that can be done by interrogating the driver's side switch before you go take apart the door. Switches just pop out but are on very short wires.

Panel removal is your last resort. No real tricks other than the round manual lock has to come off and in order to do that you have to pry the face of it off with a flat screwdriver or butter knife.
LOL, found you a picture and a nice tech article at the bird:

It's the switch that is the real bugger when you try to put everything back together. There are 5 or 6 wires on the back of each switch. I'd pull out the switch just far enough to see if they are getting power.

Make a diagram of where the wires are connected and color. Makes it so much easier. Also, I use a putty knife or other flat instrument about an inch and a half to 2 inches wide to remove the door card.

If you break any of the push-in fasteners around the perimeter of the card there are similar replacements at Pep Boys.
