My Wife bought a great car. Thank you RL and PP Communities
We went to Albany NY on Friday morning and returned with this car. 1987 G50 Carrera. The seller rep'ed the car appropriately. We drove 1200 miles to Memphis. It took 20 hours. The car ran fantastically. I love the absence of power steering. The car runs completely solid and straight at 110 mph. You can feel every bump in the road through the steering wheel. The feedback is phenomenal. I like it more than my 964's steering. The car has a Steve Wong chip which is also a great improvement. I was very impressed over all on the trip with the performance. My wife is very happy.
Thank you to both communities, RL and PP. I am a bigger RL user so I decided to post only on this site. The community is part of the reason these cars are fun. Tonight we are going to an industrial part of town and going to take both my red car and her blue bullet and race around. Hope you all have had a great weekend. We sure have.

I totally agree Darmahman. I feel the same way about young people. The air cooled cars need to be maintained, driven and loved.
I am surprised how much I like the 3.2 over my current 3.6. I am shocked. I thought it would be subpar. Not in the least. It is a better car in some ways. This is only the beginning of the fun.

Happy wife, happy life.
Looks like you made a great decision. Really elegant color combo, love the interior. You won't regret holding out for the right car... you can enjoy for the rest of your life.

We took both cars out tonight and tooled around. It was fun to chase each other around. Our son and I watched as mama played around in reverse and flew by a few times. The sound is better than my 964. Great time with great cars. Had to share.
Thank you for the fun nice comments. She is very happy with it. Very solid car at a great price. The owner admitted to putting it up at too low of a price. He stood by his word. He had a ton of interest and could have pulled it off the market. He did the stand up thing. I would not expect anything less from P car owners.
I want to change the head and/or the amp for her aftermarket radio. We have been looking at the modern Blaupunkts this afternoon. What I would really like to find is an aftermarket radio head that looks stock or at least is not noticeable with bluetooth. We run all of our car entertainment off our phones anyway. Any suggestions?
What are you using that is just not noticeable on the dash? Does anyone remember when Porsche was offering a Blaupunkts for Classics? It was cool but would have stuck out a bit in my 964 so I did not buy it. Love to know your thoughts. The other manufactures make some nice heads but they are so shiny and colorful that they do not go with the interior look of the cars. Any help would be appreciated.
