Default Short shift linkage play
I have a lot of play in my 1989 short shift linkage and some knocking from the shifter. I think I need a new bushing on the shifter but wanted to ask about these connections. Does anyone know how much play this should have. I'm guessing I have about 5mm. Is it simply a matter of tightening?

Have you even checked the tightness of those fasteners?

I did after I posted this. I don't believe they can be tightened. Was that where you were going?
