Default 1978 SC not starting

Picked up my first Porsche a few weeks ago - 1978 911 SC Targa.

When I went to take it out tonight it would not start. It turns over but does not kick in.

Any suggestions on where to start?

I bet its the fuel pump fuse, you probably have a short. Change the fuse, buy a spare DME just in case. and get it up on a lift and check the fuel pump wiring for an exposed wiring.

So this is your first one!? how many do you plan to get?

78 doesn't have a dme, it could be the cdi box, or a host of other little electrical gremlins, start by looking at the fuses and fuse box.

It was the fuse. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Right now it will just be the one. Maybe once I get some of the kids off of the payroll I can convince the wife for the need for another one

If the fuse blew there is to much current. If it is the correct rated fuse make sure the wiring is clean and tight at those terminals

OK here is what I am thinking. The relay might be a bit lose, which resulted in too much draw on the fuse, causing it to blow. Try spreading the male pins on the relay out a bit so you get a good tight fit on that old relay plugin.
