Default 87 911 Part Difference

Can anyone tell me if I should be concerned about the part circled in Yellow. It is different than other 87 911's I have been looking at. Should I be concerned?

The basic shape has me thinking that maybe it is an aftermarket car alarm horn? Any mystery LED's or switches on the dash or console?

That is good news. I will have to check to see if I can see anything on the pictures to understand if something extra is on the console. I did hear it was common to install an aftermarket alarm.

Yep, aftermarket alarm. Everything else in the picture looks totally stock and in average condition. The deterioration of the extra insulation on the spark plug wires is very common. It will be time for a new rotor, cap, wires, and plugs soon. It looks like a great engine.
