Default 77 targa s

A freind picked up a 77 911 targa s with 45000 miles. He is "now" the second owner possessing all the service records and sales documents. VERY nice unmolested car. Looking at the records, chain tensioners have been done but it still has the original "thermal" problem exhaust. I have been looking for a pair if ssi heat exchangers....no luck except for new. Seem to find alot of 78 and up sc/3.0/3.2 used exhaust/heat exchangers for sale. Will they work or is there a better solution.

I am in the same boat as you. I have been told that they will bolt right on, though you need to be aware of thin vs thick flanges on the HE. Not sure was is all necessary as far as muffler etc as I have not done this yet. You may try over on pelican for more info.
