Von Kiser- You probably noticed a difference in throttle response.

Sherwood raises a good point re latent heats. There is just one problem: The amount of water vapor in the air does NOT change diurnally (only if a new air mass moves into the area). IF the 'weather' does not change and you stay in the same place the absolute humidity (or water vapor density) will not change. The change in relative humidity is an artifact of the change in temperature from day to night. Relative humidity is one of the worst weather concepts ever invented (even worse than wind chill, but don't get me started...).

So, to put it briefly, there is no effect at all from water vapor during evening hours -- the part of the comment re "when it's rainy or moist weather" is quite true tho.

I guess you could pipe the intake to the outside like a ricer.

How about connecting your A/C air to your airbox?

Would the strain of the A/C being on, draw more HP than the cooler intake air could produce?

Let's not forget that the deck lid is not waterproof, and if you drill holes in an unfortunate place, water can get into where it shouldn't.

ducktails create higher pressure over the grille and enhance airflow esp. with A/C

Default Von Kiser IZED

I Von Kiserized my intake box in January, and have better throttle results, pluse it sounds very racy... took all but 10 minutes, used masking tape to mark cutout and to minimize the plastic shavings flying every where. Von Kiser mode could also be called the "Cheap Cup Mode". Sorry Von if are offended but replication is a compliment..

If you drive only on sunny rain free days, take off the cover, strap down the filter with zip straps.........................and save the unmolested cover for poor weather, that would be the cheapest quickest way to test out your theories, right?

Morning dew or condensation might be a problem for a paper filter if left uncovered for too long, right?
