Anybody know where I can buy rent or borrow a special Porsche tool - main shaft holder - to rebuild a 915 transmission from an '84 3.2? brucedotlukeatyahoodotcom. Thanks in advance

Do you have the special tool that slips over the long end of the main shaft to remove the nut? If you're not going to use that, you could use an old clutch disk on the spline end of the shaft to hold it while you loosen the nut. Just make sure you rig up some support for the shaft to avoid introducing a bend.
