Post Replacing Oil pressure sending unit

I've got a '84 targa with an oil pressure gauge that became very erratic and now has pegged on the high end. I assume that it is the sending unit. Anyway to check it and where exactly it the the sender located? Oil level is fine and no light has come on.

To the right of the fan, on the engine you'll see what looks like a little can, maybe an 1 1/2 inches+ in diameter by two inches deep, with a wire attached to the top. This is your oil pressure sender. For an '84, it's Porsche part number 911.606.135.00.

Hello

Just check the cable at the sending unit. It is a special bullet type connector with a Mercedes Benz ( Star ) plastic housing that has a notch that locks it on the straigt pin.
