Drove the trackmeister...
...as I do on occasion to keep the car in good working order. And man...how in the world did Porsche build such a solid, road-worthy machine?! Even with stiff tbars and bilstein sports, the car feels remarkably compliant and yes, glued to the Tarmac. I've got nothing to state profound here except that the SC is nothing short of an amazing road machine! Happy Memorial Day all!

Actually, yes! There is something so visceral and addicting about driving an SC ...like I'm reading the road by braille. Love it!
Sidenote: all controls and switchgear work smoothly and solidly, steering is dead-accurate and communicative, brakes haul down like dropping anchor, and doors close with an authoritive "thung." Were it not for absence of AC, there is nothing a modern car could offer me I could consider an improvement. My 993 is more comfortable and practical as a DD, but more fun? Man those guys really got it right with these cars!

Ed I wholeheartedly agree. It is obviously not the horsepower nor the comfort package.
It is the total connection with driving when the vehicle becomes an extension of your own sensory perception.
I've owned and driven many exotic cars but never had the 'experience' of feeling/sensing the road as with an earlier 911.
My lightened, sound un deadened, euro SC is more fun / exciting / connected than anything I've ever driven.
I think the only close experience, honestly, was the 1926 Bugatti GP car....strangely very similar.
