thoses black faced gauges on the Carrera (mid '80s) are not very well illuminated at night. perhaps someone else out there owns a P-car and is over 50!!!!
I'm planning on installing the NR Auto aluminum faces this week, but Forum and Pelican chat indicates they "look great" during the daytime, but have the same to worse problem at night... insufficient illumination. I've read where installing higher watt bulbs does NOT fix, but more bulbs helps.
instead of that, has anyone tried using/installing 'lighting wire'? it looks like there is enough room under the glass and inner bezel to put a loop of this (white colored or blue) wire (diameter is only 2.3mm). that should case a bunch of light directly over the face.
