Default 79 SC

I've got two questions.

1) Does anyone know a reputable Porsche mechanic in Tampa?
2) I'm looking at this 1979 SC but my gut thinks it is going to need a rebuild soon (unless I'm misreading his description):

owners description :

Flagship of the Porsche line up Absolutely stunning 911 in Great condition. Brand new paint job Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915 transmission Work done COMPRESION: all 6 cylinders tested 135 lbs. each; the leakdown test performed by introducing 100 psi only 10 lbs of air out of 100 psi, leaked out ****Date 3.5.14 Oil & filter change 110,000 ****Date 3.5.14; oil cooler replaced Fully services at 96,000 miles ***Features: *** ********* ROH Wheels with Yokohama mounted tires (less than 3000mi) **clutch replace as well as, oil return tubes, 4 wheel alignment along with new rotors and pads. ***New Bilstein shocks, ***turbo tie rod ends and replaced valve cover gaskets. All work professionally completed at approximately 96,000 miles Oil cooler replaced Interior heating (cable replacement) I do not have records for this vehicle This model does have the tensioner which is visible in the photo; the belt on the compressor was removed to preserve the compressor

PRICE: $25,500

The paint job is nice but it seems like a very high price to me. Thoughts?

What steering wheel does it have? Looks like a Protopito or Mod 07. Do you like it?

Have a PPI with head stud check and leak down done. Don't know any indy shops there but someone here will.
Negotiate from the PPI.

see if he has original Fuchs. That price seems high for an early SC but prices are on the rise.

I heard good things about Chilly Performance on Anderson Rd. Maybe see if they can do a PPI.

They did the alignment on my BMW. I didn't have any problems with them.

Check the location. Have you seen the car in person. Only reason I ask is because the same car is listed in MA. Just a heads up.

That looks to be silly money for that car.

Well the ad originally said it was in Tampa but the owner gave me directions to a house in Boston. They must have finally corrected that error but I was sad that I didn't get to go test drive it.

If you think that price is silly, there is a gray 82 SC for sale down in Miami and the stealership is asking $28,500: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...C=BYSpdB300dyb

and the eyesore of a dash...

The first one had a silly price, considering the horrible wheels and the tea tray spoiler. Talk about "eyesore". The gauges on the other car could be remedied.
