Why not use the bottom of the tack where there's some empty room? BTW, where in the NJ are you?

I believe there's a how-to on the www.p-car.com DIY section. Don't recall where they put it, but probably worth a look-see.

Here's another option from the BMW community. About to install one in my 95 325is.
It's made for the V1 and its called the Inv1simirror.
Hardwire the V1, turn it on and your display is shown inside the mirror, turn it off and it disappears like its a normal mirror. VERY SLICK!
