Default 991 Carrera 3.4 beating 981 Cayman S and Boxter S at the Nürburgring

Here is the proof, an amateur in a base 991 beats a Pro in the new Cayman S / Boxter S at the Ring.

What car was this??? 991 or 911 with a 3,4?

EDIT: Got it. It's a 991 (reflection of dash didn't look like a 911) but do they really only have a 3,4L engine?

Poor thing:

Different track but this guy is good!

Is this a short geared 930 with a 964 bumper?

35hp advantage, not a huge shock even with the weight difference. Car and Driver UK did a comparison on a track in England a year and a half ago or so with the Boxster. 911 was slightly faster and that was on a technical track, less high speed like the ring.

I'm sure Porsche does extensive testing on this to make sure the entry level cars don't out perform the Carrera line. How would that look?

I think that huge grip of the rear tires of the 991 is one important factor.

I don't think they care about that anymore, different buyers for the two models I believe.
