Well as the supply of these factory hardtops is extremely limited with not many sold initially in the 80s and 90s and even fewer of those now coming on the market I would say that the price is normal and to be expected, especially when you see the price that D. Moris charges for a fibreglass one.
Though it is obviously a lot of money.

I contacted Porsche Classic a few months ago and asked them to look into this for me. They also informed me that these were out of production and no longer available.
Worst case if the drumbeat gets loud enough maybe they will start making them again as they are making other parts. I would contact Porsche Classic and let them know there is a growing market for OEM.
