Hi,

I'm working on a 911 SC from 1983 for a while now. I had a few problems and I brought the 911 to the dealer for the adjustment of fuel etc.
The dealer told me he adjusted the fuel and so but now the car does'nt start anymore. After phone contact the dealer asked to me the test the coldstart fuel valve. I tested it bij measuring if it got 12V and when connected on or the two pins goes to 0v. That worked
Then I had to test the temperature switch which is on the rear of he enigine (easy to measure) on the chainhousing left. The same here, both 12V when connected 1 gets 0V.

My quistion: What is wrong with the cold start. Is there a checklist to get the 911 working again. And did I do my measuring wright?

I also swaped the fuelpump relay and the injection valves (the dealer told me it was beter to change them).

Take it back to the dealer. It was starting before they worked on it, so work with them to get it running again.

I had the same thing on my 83. It turned out to be the ignition box.

Find a good reputation indy Porsche shop...they deal with a lot more air cooled cars than dealers do.
