Default alloy flywheel...SPEC

http://www.specclutch.com/products

Anyone have any experience using their products? Specifically their alloy flywheel?
Still on the hunt as a few friends said they'd had bad luck with the Videnza
product (separating starter gear).

Just call Steve Weiner and get it over with. He is God when it comes to this stuff. Seriously.

Have already. He told me what not to buy but hasn't dealt with this issue recently.

Phil,
From what I've gleaned a lightweight pressure plate can be more of a savings than the FWheel.
How do you like it on the street?

In my case i have a 95 3.6 in my car that had an original dual mass flywheel so going to a lightweight unit was a no brainer and combined with a lightweight pressure plate i can vouch that the engine spools up really quick to 6850 RPMs.

I have a custom SW chip that addresses the reported stalling issues and all i can say is that the car is a pleasure to drive, wether on the street or at the track !
With a 3.2 you might save 2-3 lbs with the lightweight flywheel but with a 3.6 it was more like 13 lbs for me,either way, less rotating mass at the end of your crank is a benefit.I'm sure you'll get someone who will chime in with a scientifical explanation but it works for me.
Check out EBS Racing, they have good pricing on lightweight drivetrain parts !

Cheers
Phil

Phil,
Thanks for the tip...that looks sweet btw.
I've a euro 3.0 w/SSI's about 215 hp. I'd guess and a weight of 2480 w/ full tank of gas.
What I'm looking for is a quicker 'spool up' in 1st/2nd gear...I suspect the 'lightness' doesn't affect 3 thru 5 much at those rpm's. Still guessing a lighter basket as the way to go and maybe lighten the stock wheel a tad.
I'll check out EBS.

"What I'm looking for is a quicker 'spool up' in 1st/2nd gear..."

Take a basic auto shop class at your local high school!
Or maybe stick to discussing what the best polish to use is.
