Default No go on brake line replacement

Well, I wanted to swap out the rubber lines for steel braided but it doesn't look like it will work. I soaked the fittings for 2 days with penetrating oil, put my flare end wrench on it, and with as much pressure I am willing to put on it, it won't budge. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is on an 83 sc.

try a little heat on the fitting with a propane torch.
If that doesn't work I'd take a Dremel and slowly, gently cut the nut to allow it to spread some working form the hose side to gauge for depth.
I suspect the heat will work tho.

front or rear, and which end of the rubber line won't come undone?

This is where high quality tools come in handy. Gotta have flare nut wrenches you can really lean on....and heat if you are really careful.

On the rears, I ended up replacing the intermediate hard lines as well as the soft.

Heat is often your friend working On a 30yo car.

The heat helped. I got the front off and left the intermediate hard line in good shape but I am going to have to replace the rear intermediate hard line.

That lower caliper retaining bolt on the rear was a pain!
