Default Fraud on purchase of 1972 911S

Is anyone familiar with this car, VIN 9912301676
I sent a deposit and the vendor and the alleged car both disappeared.
Any leads would be appreciated.

Your first clue that it was a fraud was the price; $25k and second the transmission was listed as a 4 speed.

Sorry about your loss.

LAT, horrible to have this happen, sure there were clues but there are also many mistakes in ads, and sometimes sellers do sell for low prices, fast transactions.
A friend of mine years ago bought a Ferrari in great shape from a divorce situation for 20k (split with wife) and another 30k cash to husband. It was a fantastic deal, took place fast and the seller just didn't want his ex wife to own the car.
I buy face to face now for many reasons, a plane ticket is cheap insurance.
Sorry to hear you got scammed

Sadly that car never existed with that seller, those photos are simply lifted off another persons listing. Hopefully you didnt send him much!

Lat, this is the latest scam. One guy in particular, keven kulchiski or similar out of vegas. He scans car forums, esp wtb ads, emails you with a super low price with old ad pics, then wants payment via moneygram (untraceable). Tried to get me on a ruf part on another forum. be careful guys.

LAT that's very unfortunate this particular car has been on EBay some two maybe three
months resides in North Carolina a rather prolific flipper to say the least.
I have come to the conclusion at least for my self when I most feel I'm on the verge of a
windfall so to speak where it applies to blind purchases is when I' m most likely exposed to
be taken advantage of...it's uncanny .
So now I try and take a day or so to breath and check the angles before pulling the trigger
it never fails when our own greed rears it's ugly head we are most exposed ...JMHO

Sorry about that. I saw the add on the Pelican site...it was posted by someone as 'check out this scam'....just too good to be true kind of thing.
Lots of others mentioned seeing it on ebay where the scam artist lifted the pics .

Not even a proper VIN. He "joined" Autotrader Dec 14, so there is no history even, with the alleged seller. Sorry for your loss, but there were numerous signs, IMO.

buying a car unseen on the internet is always a risk... even a bigger risk when they dangle a carrot in front of you.
