Default Tail bummer

I have started down the path to convert my turbo tail to the right one for the car. New tail is stripped and ready for paint. On a whim, I decided to remove the old tail and make sure everything lines up before dropping off parts at e painter. Wouldn't you know, the turbo tail leaves two large nasty holes on the deck lid. Crap. Had I done my homework on the forum, I guess I would have known this and bought a the matching deck lid with the new tail. I guess the good news is that I figured this out BEFORE sending the tail to the painter. Looks like my bill will be a bit bigger than anticipated. Oh well - will be nice when finished.

Correct, you must have been out of school that day! haha

I had a t-tail as well from previous owner install, but knowing the issues you mentioned, I purchased a Carrera tail / deck assembly from an '86. Was fortunate enough to find one in black with original paint to match mine, so just simply had it "slapped" on!

It will look real sweet once you install, makes a huge difference aesthetically.
