I suppose everyone has seen the 911 50th Anniversary stuff available from Porsche Design (or whatever the name is of the pricey on-line boutique). One of the items is (was) a grille badge, heavily overpriced at $150. Although I could better use the money to make my engine run, I ordered one just because I thought it would be cool to have. That was about two, maybe three months ago.

Today I got a call from them saying it was sold out worldwide, so I was saved the 150 bucks. But I got to thinking "I wonder if anyone is trying to make a profit from them on eBay?" Apparently not (yet) as I searched and didn't find it. I did find a 100th anniversary of Ferdinand Porsche badge though, $95. I can pass on that.

But I'll bet the 50th anniversary badges turn up being scalped on eBay later!

yup you can bet collecters have them and they will show up again .. but by the time they are worth anything , i think i will be long dead.
