Power drop out at high RPM

Drifting
Greg's Gas used to be known here as Smiley Stations, as their emblem was a big yellow smiley face. They are a huge local chain. This area is very near a pipeline and 2 terminals, like less than 2 miles, so gas prices are pretty low, and people drive to this area to fill up, so they pump tons of gas. This morning regular E85 was $3.16, mid was $3.26, premium E85 was $3.46, and ethanol free 93 was $3.89.
Plus they sell fried chicken from my chicken plant.

Hi Siberian,
Did you ever find out the cause & solution to this misfire at high revs ?
I am a new owner, and have exactly the same thing happening intermittently at 4500 - 5500 rpm while going uphill on mountain roads. Revs drop suddenly by about 2000 rpm. Makes the car jolt quite violently, then within half a second the revs jump back to where they were and power is back on.
1986 Carrera 3.2, stock mechanicals, 915 'box rebuilt 2010, 140k miles, car not moved or serviced for 18 months prior to me buying it last month. So it needs some attention (oil change etc for sure)… ..but what is likely to sort out this misfire?
Interested to hear if you found the answer for your car.

Thanks Gerry. I have replaced the DME relay that had a 2002 date of manufacture on it, so have a bit of peace of mind for DME-related real or potential probs. But unfortunately Murphy's Law applies - the misfire is still there...
