Default New 88 Targa Owner

113k miles (I don't think its ever been opened)
Paid 23k (It was local, so I was willing to pay a bit of a premium.)

Modifications
17" Black Turbo twist wheels (I got the original 16" Fuchs, also.)
Strut Tower Brace
Aftermarket stereo

Over all, it's in good shape. It has been well taken care of, but was in storage for a while so the gaskets are wet in all the normal places. (No overnight drips, though.) AC is ****e, but I don't think that has anything to do with age/care.

Looks pretty nice- congratulations. I'd get the ugly turbo wheels off this weekend, and get the Fuchs back on!! Then, she'll be really pretty.

Not sure why they added the basket handle at the rear?

I forgot about the basket handle. I don't get it either. It's staying for now. It's bolted through and I don't want to deal with patch and paint. Also, the light on the targa bar is inop. Not sure yet if he pulled the wires from there, or if its just a bulb.

The tires are brand new on the 17s, so I hate to pull them off and let them sit...

You could probably sell the wheels and tires for a decent sum. The twists are pretty popular in 993 and 964 circles, I don't know why....

I hear you on the basket handle, but if you ever get paint work done, you can deal with it then. It's not horrible, just not standard on these.

Congrats, put the fuchs back on. Older 911s are beautiful stock.

Congrats and Fuchs are a must! Car looks real nice, other than I don't think those wheels look good at all. As far as the silly handle, if you take it off, you should be able to simply plug the holes w/ a color coated plastic plug. Maybe go to the bumper plug website, etc.
Any interior pics??

I was looking for about 3 months on and off. But I was all over the map. Looked at everything from 1980 to 99 Turbos. Finally caved to the 3.2 G50 hype when I found a nice one. I'm going to swap the wheels in the next few weeks and sell the Twists. They have nearly new Yokohama rubber, so they should sell quickly.

Haven't taken any interior pics. Just swapped out the old seat covers. Need to pull everything out and clean/condition the leather, but there are no tears and very little wear on the seats. Targa seats well and isn't too noisy. Hasn't leaked, yet.

There are a few issues on the interior. Driver's side window sticks. Windshield wiper switch is sketchy and the washer motor appears to be inop.
