Probably most of us here have taken their street car up to 100 + mph or so on the Interstate, just to check for vibrations of course, but 150 + mph is just plain stupid.

Too many things not under your control can happen, all potentially catastrophic, not to mention going to jail and losing your car and license to drive permanently.

Promise you won't do it again except on a track, or we won't help you anymore.

Hello OP!
Congrats on your first 911 and here's my input!

The 150mph question is a funny one! Probably top speed is underrated or were you traveling down hill? lol

Vent wise, I see some mentioned floor levers. If you have the auto climate control option w/ A/C (as i do), then no floor levers exist and it's just the dial between the seats. The A/C is contolled below the dash infront of the shifter, w/ two *****. Do you have the owners manual? It's explained pretty welll in there and also how to use the levers on the dash to control vent flows, locations, etc.

Wheel wise, change those immediately and get them simply refinished. I would go polished lip and black spokes as in my sig pic.

Tail wise, it's actually "not cool" to put a turbo tail on a narrow bodied car. You are best swapping for a Carrera tail, Duck or no tail at all!

Performace wise, my mods listed in my signiture sum up easy changes w/ great results.

I agree with keeping 100 mph+ on the track as it is safer for everyone. The question here is 5 mph more than the max speed Porsche rated the car at.

Let's see here, your car is lowered, and could have some mods such as a chip or exhaust which could make the difference of 5 mph. The last thing would be did you use a GPS for the speed accuracy or are you going off of a 20+ year old speedo that might be off + / - 5 mph.

I had a brand new BMW 328i rental car and it was off by 4 MPH according to the Garmin.

I have done 145 mph with the top down on the track and it had slightly more room but not much, this is with mods and being a cabriolet it has less aero than its sister coupe. So I believe 155 with some slight mods is possible in a coupe.

I guess some of us old guys actually managed to keep our stones, possibly by not throwing them?

As far as the wheels go- powdercoat can be removed chemically with stripper, just like paint... I've done it (there isn't anything magical about powdercoat).

There are three separate systems for the heater, fresh air and AC. You can read starting here and use the arrow at the top of the page to move forward:

Go find a new wheel guy. California is the last place to go for anything involving harmful chemicals. You can find numerous people to refinish.

IMO, ALL black or ALL polished wheels look clumsy on all, but a few cars.

I've sped, but I think the stupid thing here, is doing it in a car you apparently knew nothing about.

The cheapest power is a cat bypass, then headers for more, and probably a chip. Beyond that, you are getting inside the motor, and you will be talking ~$20k.

Quick Reply: Can I ask a few stupid qustions and not get trolled by my lack of knowledge?
