Rusnak, the wheels are 6" and original. The steering is not unacceptable, it was just a bit of a surprise. I attribute that to faulty memory. I've driven an SC without wing and a 993 coupe and the difference in stability was noticeable at 125+ mph. I don't have much opportunity for high speed where I live, so am not too concerned about removing the wing.
Iceman, the wing itself is not original but close to being so. It was added when the car was a year old. My concern is not getting a good paint match with either a new deck or a repaint of the original. Decisions, decisions.

Briljant looking car. Before i bought my granite green (felsen grun) "87 car, i looked alter à car in the same color as you bought. Unfortunatly the paint was not that good, so needed à respray, but the seller didnt want to go down on the price.
