Mystery 930

Mystery 930
Hey folks,
Sorry for such a mundane first post, but here it goes.
I have a mystery grey market Porsche that's stumping me. Confirmed details are that its a 1985 930 Turbo, the car was imported from Germany in 1985. Now, suposidly it's a RUF (Though it has no badging?) slant nose delete. I have been told that the slant nose deletes are fairly rare cars, but I cannot find any definitive information on where to determine if it really is a factory slant nose delete. The car is screaming fast (was dynoed at around 450 bhp) which would lead me to believe that it does have alot of RUF parts, but obviously some of these changes have gone beyond the scope of the orig factory equipment. Lastly, it has a 4 speed transmission, which apparently never came stock on any RUF. Mabye this car is just a 930 slantnose delete with some aftermarket RUF parts? Any ideas?

If it is a true RUF factory car it will have a unique VIN number. I remember reading something about this sometime ago on RL. To echo iceman, this is the NA forum for 911s so post this on the 930 turbo section and I am sure you will get the information you are looking for quickly.
Good luck.

Slant nose delete refers to it having the rear fender vents, but not having the slant front end. The front air damn is likely from RUF or made to look like the one on Yellow Bird. Are the panels glass or steel? That is the real question. They look to be glass to my eye. Factory fins were made of wood and this car is missing all three on the driver's side. Are we looking at 12 spark plug wires?

So what, exactly, is Ruf about this car? Has an EFI intake, with a 964 Turbo intercooler. Looks like something that was cobbled together by someone, somewhere. Which doesn't mean it's bad or wrong. (Refraining on commenting about the Motormeister decal.)
Now onto the slant delete nonsense. I suppose a car could have come out of Werks 1 (which is where, I believe, any slants up to '86 were done......maybe they ALL were, even though '86 is when it officially showed up on the option sheet, for the US anyway). From what I understand, Ruf bought bodies in white, and went from there building a car with their own VIN. Of course, a customer could have brought in a whole Porsche, then they went to work modifying things.

Are the tie rod ends Heim joints? All slants had these and, yes they are available aftermarket...just something to look at.
A slant delete slant nose is a new one for me...there should be an option code for it I would guess.
My rare 924S is a 911-delete with sunroof delete and paint to sample delete.

Haha yeah it is a motormeister sticker, I received this car from a family member after it sat for over ten years evidently those guys really screwed it up, because after they touched it, I was told it never ran the same again. Dont worry its had its "motor meister delete option" taken care of.
As to the poster regarding the VIN I did find that out, and this car is most def not a real RUF. Yes 12 spark plug wires. Glass front dam. No slats for rear vents at all. 930 Turbo bastard love child I do believe. The thing runs great, now my only problem is, it seems to have no smog equipment and I live in a awful smog law state.
I will check the 930 turbo forums, thanks for the feedback so far folks.
