Default Engine Lid Alignment Help Request

Would love help from anyone familiar with engine lid alignment/adjustment.

Given that we are at the end of the winter (see photos), I went to the garage and drove my 911 a bit. I noticed that after I changed (working with a Porsche racing friend) the 2 struts with two new OEM units inside the engine lid, the lid now stays upwards and misaligned upwards on the left side (driver's side). It is up and high on both the top left corner (2nd photo); look at the difference with top right (3rd photo) and bottom left corner is also very high (4th photo). At the bottom right edge now it dips downward way below the line of the rear fender compared to the perfect alignment it had before.

The deck lid closes, locks and unlocks normally (other than the alignment issue). It does not need to be forced to close and lock. Also the inside rubber stops on the lower left and right interior touch points are there and screwed in about the same amount. The engine lifts al lot upwards at the top left edge, above the body line, even when closed. This is where the hinges and struts are.

When held by hand the entire deck lid is solid and tight. Nothing seems loose other than this tilted and upwards strange misalignment. Is the deck adjustable in position and alignment? Could we have installed the wrong length struts?. They seemed the same exact as the one before, but I remember we had to lift and keep the deck lid upwards with persistence to get the struts aligned with the retaining hardware.

Question: Before the installation of these fresh new OEM struts, the lid aligned perfectly everywhere, since new. This started since the installation of the struts.

Are engine lids adjustable for alignment? I only saw some extra washers installed on the bolts that hold the hinges to the lid itself. I assume they are there to make some minor adjustments.

PS My car is an '83 3.0 which I had since new, still with only 24K miles. For the 911 purists among us, you will be happy to known that I love it as much as my 997 GT3RS, and it is as much fun!!!.

Many thanks for your kind advice on how to properly align the lid, so I can solve this problem.

PS The last photo shows that I cleaned the car after driving on dirty and salty road (oouch, but I could not resist driving it, and sitting still is worse for this car!)

Yes, they are adjustable for alignment.

From the angle of your pics I can't tell in which direction you need to go.

There are shims under the deck lid between the hinge arm and the deck lid. Also, numerous screws that can be repositioned. The rubber plug thing can be screwed in or out to raise or lower the bottom edge at the tail light.
