Quote: Why is it that I've been scouring the interwebs looking at 930's the last couple of nights in the hotel? I'm getting an itch...
I guess by now you realize there is no cure?

I don't have all the paperwork on the car yet but I have a letter from the EPA saying that the car was "excepted" from conforming with Federal emmission requirements and it lists 5 or so reasons why? I don't quite understand but it sounds like it was exempted from federal requirements but not specific state or local emission requirements.
I currently have her in a prominate shop getting a complete engine overhaul!

That is Buttercup, a friend in Jax use to own that car. Everyone would tease about ripping out the int and putting a black one in. The shop that maintained it was Moss Port, Moss is the one who switched the wipers to the right side (he did that to most of his clients 911s).
Not sure when Paige sold Buttercup or to whom, but I can check.

Rocketman55- I bought this 930 in 1990. I took very good care of it and I sold it to Paige in 1992. I bought it from a gentleman from Columbia, South Carolina. He bought it from the a British fellow who lived in St. Petersburg, Florida. The British guy imported it from Germany as a "grey market" car in 1984. Because it was a used car over five years old, it was exempt from EPA emission requirements (under federal law at the time). So, it still had the full euro market 300 hp and no emission control. (It was "DOT'd" which involved installing impact bars inside the doors, changing the rear lenses, ect.) The British guy ran a grey market import business in St. Pete and he imported this 930 for himself.

Although it's been over 20 years, I still remember how fast this car was (at least for the time). When it came on full boost in second gear, it would make me laugh out loud! After Paige bought it, she had a 1.0 bar spring installed and 911SC cams, so it was even quicker. I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have about it. I'm glad to hear it found a good home.

This car is fantastic. So awesome that we have a previous owner here to shed some light on the car's history.

After viewing the photos, I have an unquenchable desire for squash casserole.

I love the uniqueness factor, and now a previous owner has shed some light that - minus Rennlist - mightn't ever have been known. Very cool.

I remember that kind of funk-mod 'Turbo' stripe way back when. Haven't seen it in a while, and almost certainly isn't reduplicated now. Awesome period piece.

There is nothing - not even the widebody 993 - that has a more dramatic rear 3/4 view than the 930. Crazy, delectable, fun, gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!

It is really yellow leather and not cork. The COA even says Talbot Yellow with Yellow leather and Yellow carpet. The best description I have heard about the Turbo Graphics is "Very Goldie Hawnish"
