Default Fuchs fitment

Hi all, I'm a new owner (and proud of a 1986 911 Carrera Coupe and I would like to change the wheels that came with the car when I purchase it, it came with 17 inch C2 wheel and I would like to buy real Fuchs wheels, so I'm asking you folks if those wheels will fit : front 7Jx16" ET 23.3 and the rears 9Jx16" ET 15 ... ???

Please help me

Eric

is it a wide body?
originally the 86 std coupe would have had 6x16 front and 7x16 rear while the 7's and 9's would fit and fill in the wheels wells a lot better - they came on widebody cars for the most part

I run 7's and 9's without any issues and my offests are as you suggest above

Yup. Those wheels will fit. You might have some issue with fender rubbing on the front left if you turn into parking lots too fast. I let off the brake and lift the front of the car when turning into parking lots, and have no issues.

I would imagine any Fuch would fit a 911 with the excpetion of the 944 wheels . I think some of the 944 guys try to pass off these wheels as 911 wheels.

I dont know it but if someone can post up the offsets of the 6's 7's and 8's used on the 911 it may help the op.

The wheels will fit. It will depend on your choice of tires whether or not you will experience any rubbing. Some 225/50-16 tires may rub on the front unless you roll or trim the fenders. If you go bigger than 245 for the rears you may have to trim and tweak bolt heads or lines. 16x7&9 Fuchs tend to be very pricey. Especially the 16x9's. I would love to have a set for my Carrera. They will look a ton better than the C2 wheels.

Check out tire choices before you make a decision. The pickings are slim for 16" wheels. There are some well-made 17" Fuchs replicas that will open up a much larger selection of tires.

im not sure if you typoed . In my opinion 16 X7 fuchs are reasonable and readily available .. 8 and 9s are the pricey ones ..

Hey All, Along the lines of wheel fitment...if I found a pair 16 x 8s, could I just move the 16 x 7s (not the tires necessarily) that are currently on the rear, to the front? Or is the offset different?

Plenty of 16x6 and 16x7 for sale everywhere. Check Rennlist classified and PP as well.

Might also want to check Rennsport.ca and PCA/UCR classified for a local buy.

I just moved my stock 7" rears to the front, and mounted 9" Fuchs in the rear. They fit fine, and yes a lowered Bilstein arrangement will work fine. I have RSR Bilstein struts, which will let the car run even lower than stock and not bottom out inside the strut. I have rub marks on the bottom corners of my front spoiler from the street.
