Default Rear Fog Lamp Installation

I have completed the Rear Fog Lens Install on my 1988 Cab. Hope the description and pictures below helps folks who are interested in a very clean, stock install that doesn't require any cutting or drilling. I identified the parts from a lot of help on this forum as well as downloading the 1989 UK PET from the Porsche web site which clearly shows the parts needed on Illustration 905-05 pp1-2 and Illustration 903-06 pp1-3. To get the UK PET, log on to porsche.com and then select the UK web site. Once there you can go to the section to download the parts catalog. The US PET deletes some of the entries and illustrations so you have to get the UK one. I ordered all the parts through Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota with no problems.

I opted to replace the current push-pull front fog light switch with the two-stage switch that pulls for the front fogs and twists 1/8 turn clockwise for the rear fogs. I replaced the current green front fog symbol to the yellow rear fog symbol.

Here is the parts list:

911-633-123-01 Rear Reflector with two rear fog lights with bulbs and reflectors
900-631-127-90 Bulb 12V/21W (I ordered two spares)

The next three parts are the electrical connection to the rear fog lights and a rubber cover to keep the water out.
911-631-261-00 Protective Cap (2 total)
944-612-548-00 Connector (4 total)
944-612-547-00 Connector Housing (2 total)

911-613-147-00 Two-Stage front/rear fog light switch
(Note you will have to unscrew the push-pull part of the switch as the part # here does not include this.
911-613-234-02-01C Rear Fog Cap for the Push-Pull part of the fog light switch

(Pictures 1-4) Several Views of the Rear Reflector

(Picture 5) Here are the three electrical connection parts. The rubber cap has two small holes in the end to feed the wires through. The wires connect to the silver parts and then the silver parts are snapped into the black part. This assembly plugs into the back of the reflector. You can see in the picture immediately above where it snaps into the reflector. Very nice design.

(Picture 6-7) Here is the two stage switch to be mounted in the instrument panel. The first picture is the back of the switch and the second picture is the front of the switch. You can see the small illumination bulb. The socket is threaded to accept the push pull switch. This switch is essentially the same as the defog/defrost two-stage switch.

I did not notice that until I was uploading the pictures for this post. Pretty neat that it looked like it had just been manufactured...high quality stuff!

I thought this was the correct foglight kit for an 88 911?: http://www.autoatlanta.com/Porsche-R...-RP902889.html

Are rear fog lights standard or optional in Germany?

I think the Euro cars came standard with it.

I've used the rear fogs a few times here in bad weather with my wife following me in her Cayman. She was really impressed at how visible it made me, especially when she was a few cars back.
