Default 1969 RSR Clone wannabe

NO AFFILIATION with seller....just happened upon this.

IF, I were more mechanically inclined.....this looks interesting (to me).

Out of curiosity, what value would you guys put on this project ?

I'd like to have the thing but prob no where near what he wants....totally rebuilt 2.7 for 4500? Doesn't look that way unless motormeister did it (theirs look like that after a rebuild).
If you inherit a 'wreck' ok, do it yourself time...never buy a wreck for anything but peanuts because it is going to cost you tons of money in unknowns and that car has plenty.

+912 on that. I look at what Jeremy has done with his blue RSR, and think that would be fun. I do like yellow cars too. But, I don't have a life, as it is, during the year to enjoy the toys I do have. If I was 10 years younger, maybe.

I'm still laughing about the 2.7l motor, "completely rebuilt (new "cam" and internals) for $4500. That statement may speak volumes about the condition of the rest of the car.

Yeah - rebuilt 2.7 for 4500? Ask Steve Weiner what it takes to properly rebuild a 2.7. at least it has metal flares - looks like a 901 box too.

912 like Ed says

The body doesn't look bad it appears to be a decent RSR clone representation, solid and no rust paint
if you like yellow may be in any condition.
As a roller probably 4500 -6000, the engine and trans seperately maybe 4-5K do the math...
Since it is dissassembled it could go cheaper as a package to get it gone! Bert

This is the perfect car to go find an old & tired 911SC or 3.2 Carrera that somebody spent good money rebuilding the engine and refreshing mechanicals, and literally swapping tubs and personalizing the small things to your liking. Sell off what you don't need from both cars and if your time isn't worth much, you can be into an RSR-clone for very very cheap.

I think it's over priced as is and the reserve has not been met. Junkyard motor no doubt, and a CIS 2.7 at that. 4.5k hasn't and won't make the engine any good. Same with the 901. One must assume you will need a motor and trans for this project. What you're bidding on is a set of OZ wheels and very questionable body work.
That car is a 'start from scratch' project and you can do that with any old 64-89 911.
$1000 and I still don't feel like I have any 'gane'

Wanna bet that if you peel back the onion you'll have photos to rival what Colin and his guys are working on with that '72S in the other thread?

(It becomes clearer by the day why I've kept the zero-and-never-had-any-rust '73 faux RS shell around all these years, and snapped up Ruby for the mechanicals. Even if I'm almost as short on time as Ed is............)
