question...has BP changed the 'name' of it's high performance 15-40 and 20-50 to high performance Racing oil?
I know Racing oil is not for street use because of the lack of certain additives but I see lots of 20-50 BP Racing and do not see it listed on the BP site as that....

My 993 loved the 20-50 Racing Oil. This was mainly a street car. BP was dino oil with some synthetic added.
Loved the smell or "real" oil. The engine was much quieter. I think the car liked this oil best.

hmmmmm .

just checked .. 009 7119 is what i have on my cases so it looks like the part number is the same, they just rebranded it racing oil vs high performance oil.
A total guess but im thinking they had to call irt racing oil due to the adatives.

I've a case of the 20-50 HP at home so can't check the numbers....Iceman, I suspect you are correct...they had to 'get around' the cat killer zddp issue.

I've found it newly listed as racing oil with the same product ID as the old high performance Iman provided so they've just changed the moniker
