I am ready to load my engine into the back of my pickup. I need to know the correct place to hook up the chains on the engine. I am a little concern on breaking something.

Bob, your best bet is to get a friend/neighbor to help you and lift the engine via the bottom of the lower valve covers.
If you still want to do it via a hoist/hooks - there should be a factory "loop/eyelet" at the rear of the engine, nearest the clutch assembly, using one of the case seam studs as an attachment.
You can pick up the engine via this eyelet, I would figure out a place to put another hook for stability, but the factory eyelet should suffice.
If you don't have this eyelet present, of course you'll have to fabricate something or find one of these handy units...I have one somewhere if you need one, let me know, I'll put it in a padded envelope and send it snail mail...but you'll owe me a beer!
