Default Blower motor question

In all the time that I've had my '84 Targa I never gave any thought to the heater blower motor in the engine bay.Recently I removed some of the shrouding and got to looking at it.How is it activated? I turned on the heater fan, etc. and got no activity in the blower. ???? Thanks!

Should be activated by pulling up on one of the between seats levers. After you do that, you can check for 12v at the motor electrical connection. Be sure to check the fuse as well. The motor in mine was dead when I checked it, so I got the good but overpriced motor only from Pelican. Perfect fit and easy fix.

I think I see the problem. I replaced my "dead" automatic heat control with a lever attachment;there were some "extra" wires that are now jusl lying there. Some wiring ingenuity coming up. Thanks!!

FYI it isn't worth buying a new one, they don't do enough work vs cost.

I think his point is they are only effective at idle and do not move much air anyway

Even if you get the blower motor working in the engine compartment and you have footwell blowers motors, you won't move much air unless those footwell blowers come on. If they don't come on, they act as a restrictor in the line and that may be what is happening to your system. Do you have footwell blowers? They are up under the kick panels under aech side of the dash.

Got them but I doubt that they are working. Pretty much a warm weather car. When I have had to use the heat it warms to a comfortable degree but I never feel any hurricane force winds coming out of any of the outlet, just a lot of fan noise(on high).
