Question 993 lights on 911

is there anyway to put 993 lights on a 911? i know you need new front fenders but would it work? would i need custom work done and if so what would it be? also i would need a new front bumper cover.

The 993 is pretty much an entirely different car. Any such work would require a lot of custom fabrication(=$$$).

Are you going for the 993 look, or the HID's? 993 look sounds expensive, as in lots of custom fitting of fiberglass panels. I have seen HID kit's for h4's, although I have not seen them in person. The price on similar kits has come down a lot in the past year or so.

Yes, i have a friend that has a 75 targa he has grafted 993 headlights on. this car has also been made into a narrow body speedster using factory parts. i will see if he will respond to you post.

It is possible. If you change to glass 993 fender which is VERY easy to do. You will then have to weld some kind of bracket for the lights to mount on and wire them up. It's basically the front end of a conversion car. If you are talking about putting 993 lights on older car fenders, your car is going to look wierd, and you will be in for some serious work. If you go with HID or litronic better have deep pockets and some know how. I personally think 993 lights on a non-993 car will not look good, and 993 fenders on a non-993 will look just as bad.

This is the type of kit I was referring to, <a href="http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-6853.cfm" target="_blank">http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-6853.cfm</a> .

Back to my first question, are you interested in the looks of the 993 lights, or are you looking for increased light performance. H4's with nice bulbs and a relay setup can be very bright.

i have done this conversion to my car-it looks fantastic!!l had the fenders made ( the guy has a mold now).nobody can tell what year my car is anymore.l use 964 fiberglass bumper conversion also on my 84 carrera.the fenders give the car a real slantnose look.these are custom molded fenders, not just 993 fenders bolted to an early car.the fiberglasser blended the forward section of 993 fenders into early fenders seamlessly.l didn`t like the look l got by bolting on stock 993 fenders, the lines were all wrong.this is not a difficult conversion.my fenders are narrow body.l did have to move the oil cooler to the front bumper area using an rx-7 turbo oil cooler.

l`ll try to post an image of my car.my narrow body fenders are from precision conversions in california(tony).I think l paid $450.00 for the pair, plus $300.00 for the lights.as far as l know the only other pair are in puerto rico but he may have sold more since l bought mine(prototypes).as far as looks, they look great, you really have to see it to believe it.everyone, and l mean EVERYONE,has liked the look of the car so far.l`m talking about Porsche people too,not just my wife and the kid down the street.Be aware though that unless you intend to keep your car these mods are not always everyones cup of castrol...
