I believe the HP rating was 75 for the last couple of years. It was a cam-in-head design, relatively smooth and torquey, nice rear drive layout. I don't think it had a hatch, glass I believe was sealed. Parts are hard to get.

Your post really brings me back. When the GT was introduced I fell in love with it (eventhough the critics hated the design (" a scaled down American car that didn't come off), but never consumated my passion (opeted for a TR6 instead). I have a copy of the June 1969 issue of the first R&T road test. To summarize, it was based on the Opel Kadett and sold by Buick. The 1.9 liter sohc 4 cyl inline generated 102 bhp @ 5400 and 115 lb-ft @ 3100. 0 to 60 was reached in 10.8 sec with a top speed of 113 mph.
Yes, it was a rear drive and the rear glass was sealed. It sold for $3,500 (compared to a 911T at $6,400 and the Jag XKE at $6,500).
