Post good news/bad news

Good news :-) First DE event (for me) of the season this Thursday at Lime Rock Park. First outing for the 3.6L with Ruf oil cooler and front valance, 930 suspension & brakes.

Bad news :-( Forecast calls for rain and showers all day. This is also good news because the northeast has been suffering a months-long drought and we really need the rain. But, its bad news because driving in the rain can get hairy (spelled "scary").

Guess I'll leave the brand new SO-3s on the car (as my "rain" tires) with the Fuchs, instead of switching to my Goodrich track tires & 17" rims.

If you're at Lime Rock on thursday, please stop and say "hello" (red '87 carrera, license plate "Carrera-1").

Rich,

Stop by and say hi. I'll be working in the tower at start/finish. I'm car #5 (red '84 Carrera).

I'm heading out to the garage after dinner to put my rain tires (RE-71's) back on the car. The Kuhmo don't do rain well.

I'll be there too. Latest forecast actually says rain in the morning then a break and rain late afternoon. I'll be on my S03's. White 964 #47

Richard, Have fun!!! Soften up your suspension for the rain and run a bit more air in your tires than you normally would. Watch the esses at Limerock. The left hander before No Name is really slippery on the concrete( I had a participatory car experience there in the rain).

Cheers, James

ps. Your floorboards are getting anodized next week!!!!

At least you won't get snowed on. That happened at Brainerd, MN (BIR) last week for my first DE of the year. Most of it melted as it hit the ground.

Would you believe we got snow flakes last Friday at Lime Rock? Melted as it hit the ground too.
