My mechanic gave me the option to go with Boge or Bilstein. I beleive my car came originally with boges. what should I go with?

I'd agree with Jack. I think you'd find the Bilstein heavy duty shocks may provide a bit more damping than the Boge's. The Bilstein Sports shocks would be used as part of a broader suspension upgrade program. If you're satisfied with the stock suspension, then OE Boge's should work fine for you.

Note that for 911 (1985 thru 89) there were two types of Boge struts options available. The Basic one, that I think you all are assuming what is on his car, and a Sport (twin tube hydrallic). Check to see what was on the car. As it is a Boge, the insert housing is typically black. I'll note the left side part#'s, that appear on the wheel side of the insert housing (911 341 041 04-basic, 911 341 041 05-sport). I replaced my original Boge-sport with Bilstein sport and noticed a slight increase in response (I liked it). However if I had used the HD I would have seen a much bigger decrease in response (not like). See Shox.com for parts.
