Sport Shock Option for 87 g50
Can anyone please tell me if the factory Sport Shock Option on the 87 Carrera Coupe provided a lower ride height than the standard factory set up?
Thanks

Are you asking if the spindles are welded higher on the struts?
Raising my spindles 15mm is on my ultimate DIY check list. I have access to the equipment, now I just need access to money. Like that will ever happen.

Short answer no
Long answer. Ride height is traditionally determined by changing the springs on a conventional car. On our panzers it is set by reindexing torsion bars and adjusting spring plates.

My 87 had it from The factory. Last year it got à fresh set all around. Rightheight compared to other is The same, but handeling is so much better. Espaccialy with turbo tie Rods.
But if your car doesnt have it standard, look very carefully what you buy, cause, standard bilstein doesnt fit in standard boge.

Some cars came from the factory w/ Bilstein shocks stock (notable early Carreras and 930s) or as an option, Bilstein all around makes for a very desirable setup, there are several different versions of Bilstein that have been used diffing mostly in the valving that is used. A really nice touch on a Bilstein car is to have the valving custom matched to the springs and car weight, this is done at a very reasonable cost by Bilstein San Diego.
