The engine drop alone will be the biggest vehicular project I've done before. I've removed control arms to replace bushings, replaced various gaskets, installed coil overs on my Lexus, etc... But never completely removed an engine.

'Twil be fun... I hope.

i have helped my mech drop a few 911 motors, its pretty easy.
Getting the right angle to pull the gear box out and when putting it back in is a bit tricky, but not that hard.
sure makes it easy to work on

edit, Yes i do mean both motor & gearbox together

Dropping the engine is pretty easy. It's a couple hours work and comes right out. Do yourself a favor though and drop the engine & tranny at the same time. Loads easier than trying to mate engine & tranny in the car.

At that point the worst part of the whole process is lining up the mount points when you go to put it back. Not too bad.

Now accepting volunteers to make it Virginia Beach for the drop.

In all reality, I'm lucky enough that the garage at my parents' house is one massive motorcycle short now, and I've been given the green light to use the space for the 911. Not a big deal to some, but I've never been able to park my vehicles in their garage.

I'm moving again in 2 weeks, so the drop will have to be put on the back burner for a while. Unfortunately, my monthly expenses went way up with the move and I still don't have my own garage.
