Default what to do

Hi I got a 76 Targa I am rebuilding. Should I go crazy and Put bigger cylinder heads and pistons or should I just build it up strong and put a sport exhaust on it? Any suggestions ?

What is your budget? Head studs always seem to be an issue.

Yeah i think you have to determine .. "rebuilding ". I imagine you have split the case and will be having it machined and times certs insalled or some other method of stopping the studs pilling out of that mag case ?. If thats the case you are already well into the rebuild. Ed wil give you an ide from there of what is involved I would imagine, but that would be one solid fast car if you invested.

mag case should also have the case halves shuffle pinned. A well built, 2.7 is a screaming fun engine in stock form. The addition of a good exhaust is probably all you would need. There's always more to be had, but budget will dictate, and your budget needs to be carefully allocated. The needed machine work for a mag 2.7 is expensive in addition to the rest of the build like any other 911. The end result is a wonderful driving car.
